we use electric hook up. electrics work ok except when we put on the lights last time we went away we then got a smell of burning coming from the transformer. Could it be the battery or transfomer? Could we just use the mains hook up and not have the battery connected?

Hello Anne,

Simply because no one on this forum can inspect your system to establish what might have happened to cause the smell, none of us can offer a guaranteed solution.

Over heating electrics are bad news, and should be inspected by a competent person.Only that way can you be sure the problem, has been properly resolved.

Caravans are easy to set fire to, and they burn very rapidly. It would be foolish leave a potential fault unresolved.

Why have you reopened a post from 2009 on an entirely different subject?
