Enduro Motor Mover

I have noted the posts about the Powertouch mover but as I said in another thread I had already bought the Enduro at a good price in January so there was no going back.

I have just completed the installation and thought it would be a good idea to share the experience.

I watched the video of the unit on the busyoutdoors.com web site and expected the unit to be cam operated however when I opened the box I discovered a completely different design. I checked the Purpleline/Enduro web site video and saw that the unit had been redesigned and instead of the motors tipping on the cam to engage with the wheels it was now engaged with a sliding mechanism operated presumably on a thread and I must admit from a design point of view this system does seem more superior to the cam.

First thing which is very essential is to read the notes carefully and you soon discover that it is best to wire up each motor before attempting installation. Point not noted in the instructions. From then on it was pretty basic stuff providing you are prepared to lay on your back and have your knuckles rapped because there ain't much room under the caravan and at this stage I found it necessary to have it on a flat surface, unable to jack the van up until the motors were secured in place.

The electrics were very basic the only problem I encountered was trying to thread four wires down the trunking underneath the van and still recognising which red was for left and which one was for right etc. when they emerged at the other end.. The cable markers they supply just slid along the cable and wouldn't come out the other end and the cables were a really tight fit. I gave up and used separate trunking for each pair. Had I been at home I would have found some other way to mark the cables but working at the van storage site I was limited.

I decided to check out the operation and was unsure whether it was OK to run the motors without engaging them on the wheels so I sent an email to the support and still have not received a reply. If there are any Enduro persons reading this forum that does not instill any confidence.

(Black mark number one).

So far I have not been able to use it but I am impressed with the design. The rollers are aluminium which I understand from the forums are the best.

Am I sorry I bought it?

So far No.

I await to see if the build quality and operation live up to the design.

Hi

I fitted an Enduro to my van last spring and I have had no problems at all. It is easy to apply, has alloy rollers and is powerful enough to move my 1450kg up an incline onto the drive. All of this at a bargain price of less than

Hi Reg

I fitted the Enduro last September on my single axle Compass. I had no real problems fitting it, and also managed to do so without jacking up the van at all. The only problem was the motors fouled with the hot air duct as it crosses underneath the van, but I seem to have got away with crushing the tube on both sides to not quite flat and it still delivers just enough warm air the the bathroom to keep icicles at bay in the depth of winter.

I use the Enduro everytime to get the van on and off the drive and apart from occasionally being a bit slow to respond to the remote control (both starting and stopping on occasions) it has worked fine, even on my deep gravel drive. If the rollers slip, it is usually because I haven't wound them on to the tyres enough (always in the green band though)

Cheers

David

I haven't regretted buying it, but have to say would probably opt for the Powrtouch now they are price matching the Enduro. Some friends have the powrtouch and it seems to be a bit slower moving but is a bit more precise. The only problem they have is eating the 9v batteries in the remote. They seem to change it almost every trip, ours is still on its original six months later.
