Beating a bunch of part timers from San Marino is NOT a great result.

When England players stop poncing around and find the bottle to beat Germany, France Italy et al, Ill start watching them. Over the years I have got sick of hearing how this (current at the time) England team is good enough to go all the way. Southgate has won very little, if anything in his entire career. You need a manager thats a serial winner, and players with grit and determination, and I dont see that with this bunch of lightweight prima donnas.

The problem with the FA is that when they choose a manager, they always choose one they can control, one of the reasons why Cloughie never got the job.

I am with Thingy on this one, could be argued that England only won the World Cup because, as the home nation, they didn't have to qualify

Yes but they still had to make it through the stages into the final, and win that match. Doesn’t that count for anything then?

Frankly I avoided it as the outcome was more or less predictable and a farce, loss there was nigh impossible. It looks to have been so one sided their was no point in it.
The real success of the night was Scotland, who did beat a normally superior team..

Loyalty means nothing if you havent the skill guts and determination to go all the way. Every two years its the same old thing. All the promise and no present. Lets have a real laugh here. Harry Maguire as captain. (n)

Im a big Utd fan, born bred and buttered there and I wouldnt let that donkey drive the coach let alone the team. Connor Coady in the back middle three, how in hell did he get an England callup. I could go on, but Im guessing if you thought that was any sort of good result, explaining it would be pointless.

If you think this lot could win a raffle you are in cloud cuckoo land.

Just get to the point Thingy, just tell it like it is, cut to the chase and all that.

Just say what you really mean without beating around the bush. :p

No, it doesnt. Just remind me what happened in the final. Second counts for nowt. I am not knocking the 66 squad. I am knocking a bunch of soft, overpaid, underperforming lightweights, who, unlike the 66 squad which probably went for a pie and a pint after a match, would rather go running to their hairdresser and masseuse.

And let me remind you that the manager, a certain Mr Southgate, who, after missing a crucial penalty for England, thought it a real hoot to make a TV advert whilst wearing a brown paper bag on his head as a joking reference to his miss. Can you picture Bryan Robson or the Charlton brothers making a joke out of it.

I can't stand these, English Drama programs, give me real sport Rugby anytime.

And milling!
Muderball anyone?

Can't understand how people get so worked up over a bunch of performers doing ballet on a field to get their silly salaries.
On Saturday England is playing South Africa a RUGBY union match where sometimes players get hurt, but the player carries on playing. At least the England rugby team have won the world cup on more than one occasion and have a good chance of winning it again and again. No need to think about a match in the sixties and wish it could be the same again.
In addition they do not get paid fancy salaries like footballers who prefer to play ballet on a field. I will be supporting both sides on Saturday as it is the game and not who wins!

I was at the Principality for Wales All Blacks and plan to be there for the Wales v Australia. previous attendance was in 2019 Wales v Barbarians. Although these days my attendance is more measured than in the late sixties, and early seventies at the Arms Park and away venues, when it was a weekend, or more which resulted in near complete memory loss.

My point though is almost anyone could have beaten England's opposition, so that was a foregone conclusion. Denmark will give anyone a run for their money so beating them was the real performance on that night.
Hi Ray on the night Scotland got a great result
