I have a 13 pin to 12N & 12S adaptor lead. I have an intermittent loss of power and suspect a loose connection /fault with the 13 pin socket as I could here rattling inside the socket. I removed the end fitting which tightens and seals around the cable with a rubber grommet and found a loose terminal screw inside. However, my query is can anybody tell me how on earth do you take the socket apart to provide access to the wires and terminals? It is not as easy as the the 7pin 12N plug that's for sure. Any help will be much appreciated.

Hi,

On my 13pin to 7N & 7S lead I have to do the following

1) Unscrew the cover at the back of the 13 pin socket

2) Pull the rubber grommet down (good 6-8 inches)

3) Hold the outer and inter parts of the socket and twist is opposite directions

This should then allow the main plastic housing to slide down the cables exposing the back of the pins

Hope it helps
