Extension Mirror Problem

I've a bit of a problem with my extension mirrors.....

Whenever it is slightly windy (anything more than a bit of a breeze, not a howling gale!), if I drive at more than about 45 mph the mirrors fold back flat against the side of the car. I know they're designed to do this if I hit something with them - but not when I'm driving normally! The same thing happens sometimes when I encounter turbulence from a passing coach, truck etc.

I drive a Citroen C5. Anyone else have a similar experience, and found a solution? It can get a bit scary when you're passing a truck and you suddenly can't see anything as you go past them!

Thanks

James

James you could try these. They are supposedly designed with soft mirror springs in mind. I use them and find they are very stable, give a good view behind and are very easy and quick to fit and remove.

There used to be an accessory on sale that could easily be copied

It consisted of a sucker to stick on the car wing etc and a tape that was attached to the towing mirror and set with the car door closed so that it was just under tension

I rememeber seeing it at the NEC some years ago
