Hello All,

I am trying to locate an LED 'bulb' that will directly replace the 10 watt halogens in the (Labcraft?) eyeball spots in my Europa. I did try one type from Ultraleds, but the protruding shoulder on their bulb prevented it being pushed fully home. I know that I can replace the entire fitting, but this way is simpler if it's possible. If anyone knows a model number, or type description, I would be grateful.

Hi. Last year i spent a lot of time researching all LED applications in a caravan.

First i must say that the technology is improving all the time.

To change an Eyeball bulb like for like was impossible early last year, as the light quality both "LUX" (Brightness) and white colour imitation (blueish) had not reached the mark.

Late 2007 the new generation super LEDs came on-stream.

these are very bright and WHITE.

The shoulder problem can be fixed. it takes 20 minutes of work and the bulb holder will take, the old blueish leds and the new super LEDs and still allow the old 10watt bulb.

If you remove a little metal (4mm i think )from just below the existing shape, still forming the profile, the two lugs will locate further down the fitment, thus allowing the New Super Bright Light Emitting Diode.

LEDs run cold but the base resistor does warm slightly.

It would be good to know the type of LED bulbs and where you bought them Bigbigtom.
jason, I brought some on ebay search for 300190375539. They were no problem to fit and no modifications required.

Hi Jason. as Ray (C) writes, ebay is a good place to look. but finding the perfect one is still very difficult, I look at the boy-racers tarting up bits first in the car parts section.( NO I dont have a blue LED in my windscreen washer jet ).
