after returning to touring after having a static van i bought a lunar solar 464 1997/8.the fanmaster unit is very noisey and i suspect the motor.trying to source an original or straight replacement is very difficult.does anyone know of anywhere to get a replacement motor or will the new trauma units be a straight swap.

Hi Paul, There are two motors for the Fanmaster depending on it's age, they are available at some good caravan outlets, failing that Gary at www.arcsystems.biz has both types, you will have to wait to get one from Gary though, he's on holiday until the 8th of Feb.

Hello Paul,

Assuming by the age of the caravan, the Fanmaster is fixed with screws to the rear of the heater back plate. If so the Truma fan unit will bolt on in its place, But you wont have the benefit of the electric

As Metz's says I have the motors but there are actually three if you count an 'oddball' batch of motors Carver used a couple of times.

Essentially the same as the more common motor, it has a 1.1/4in long by 1/8in Diameter shaft instead of the 3/4in more often used. As yours is a 97/8 unit you may find your is this odd one, if so I can supply a modification to get round the problem.

Sorry though it will have to wait another whole 14 days lol

Further to my reply about the fan blades, just take off the front of your heater and you should be able to see the fan. Give this a spin round with your hand and you will see or hear if it is fouling anywhere. Kenny
