Hi Kevin

Thanks for asking. I'm still here in Cornwall, back on Thursday/Friday. The weather hasn't been very good I'm afraid. Had the heating on each night!

Done quite a bit of sight seeing, I was determined to find some dog friendly beaches so we've done that too but no sunbathing.

Towed down with a Discovery, glad when I get home and swap it back for the Mondeo though!(sorry 4x4 drivers).

Spk soon.

Hi Diane

I first towed a trailer (horse box) with one about eight years ago and I thought it was awful. This one's not much better either, wouldn't have one myself.

You'll understand this - it's a bit like going from riding a colt to a riding an old plodder which has spent all its life in a riding school.

GTGN, queue for the laptop.

A Discovery turned over west bound on the M4 near Pyle last week towing a trailer with builder's equipment on board. Made a hell of a mess and closed two lanes of the motorway. Long queues tailing back to Bridgend

Frank, i just think that Disco,s are ugly looking brutes. That is my personal opinion. And as the post stated it meant no offence.

Also a new Disco flipped a caravan on the cardiff stretch of the M4 a few weeks ago. I also so the Article that said they were a no.1 all rounder, but do do get the 4x4 mag and planet 4x4 mag? Read again. It make very intresting reading

Hi Diane

"Also a new Disco flipped a caravan on the cardiff stretch of the M4 a few weeks ago"

It's so difficult with these off the cuff comments. Did the disco flip the caravan ?? or was the driver to blame?? was it down hill to fast ??? I don't know.

I looked in the Western Mail and can't find no mention of it. Personaly I don't like the Disco, but I can't see any reason for them flipping caravans.

LoL! From what i am told it has something to do with the stability control on the Land rover Discovery. The Article was in the southwales Echo and we also passed the accident on the way up to Glouster. It was also posted on another forum "www.caravantalk.co.uk". There was one hell of a mess on the caravan.

The husband was considering buying a Disco, but was told by many people includeing the guy who fitted our new tow bar. Don,t go there. so considering everything we have seen and heard, i still think the Disco is an ugly looking brute!:)

I thought of buying a Disco prior to the Fourtrack I have. I tried two within a few days of each other - both private sales from people we knew and had respect for their vehicle. One was a short wheel based three door model whilst the other was a five door model. Both of them were like riding on board a ship. Their suspension was very soft and it appeared to "roll" on the slightest of bends. Now I have the Fourtrack I am glad that I did not buy the Disco as the road holding on the Daihatsu is far better.

Well, we're back. It's raining here. The water in the pool has gone green. The grass is 12 foot long. (Grr).

Plotter, did you see me go by???
