Paul my friend put up his 'awning 'complete and in the wind put on the storm strap but spent a sleepless night and took it down again the next day,it coped ok when up with the rain,hail and snow but the wind was a worry,that said I guess an ordinary awning would be as bad.
 
thanks for coming back to me , i do normally have sleepless nights when its windy with the awning up, still undecided what to buy

Paul he hasonly used it once we are away again Mayday so will see how it performs but at the end of the day any awning in bad wheather is only as good as the pegging down!
