Hi Val

We are going on a late evening crossing to Calais and wondered about stopping on the Aire at Baie de la Somme. Can you tell me roughly how far this would be from Calais please. Many thanks.

With the caravan it would take us about an hour and a half. The slip road leads you down into the service area, and on your left as you're driving in is the service building. I think there's a small roundabout (memory failing me at this point - but then it is late and dark when we arrive) - but you carry straight on to the caravan area (signposted) - and turn left into the 'cul-de-sac' which has the caravan bays. There are probably five bays down each side, and plenty of room to turn around the 'roundabout' at the far end.

If there's no room there, then there are other caravan bays almost in front, but to the right of, the service building.

Quote: Turn left just after the bloke with the crow bar and ski mask

He'll be the guy protecting the overnight caravanners, on a cold evening, then!

(Neither could I).
