Farewell

With much regret I have decided to hang up my moderator's hat, / break the point of my blue pencil or whatever the appropriate phrase is.

I have explained my reason in some detail to my colleagues, who have been carrying - and continue to carry the majority of the load and who do what is often a more than thankless task with great skill and good humour. The 'ordinary' contributors - - among whom I now include myself - are very fortunate to have their services, and it is good and appriopriate that - by and large - these seem to be appreciated.

Unless you have (tried, in my case) to do this job it is difficult to appreciate the dedication required and the thickness of skin sometimes required.

So a public 'thank you' to my colleagues - the bad news is that I shall still be reading and sometimes replying.

Sincerely, Ray S (without the Moderator)

It's not really a farewell though is it Ray - coz you're still here!! LOL You have given lots of good advice to members and, I am sure, will continue to do so. You're right, they do all do a brilliant job, and as a former mod myself on another couple of sites, I know how difficult and frustrating it can be at times - although thankfully, the majority of members don't cause too many problems.

Ray, I am sorry that you have decided, but appreciate why and would like to say a public Thank You for your contribution to the Moderation team and helping through some difficult times.

Your future contributions will always be appreciated and I hope all goes well for you and yours in the future.

Thank you for all your hard work. No mods = no forum. I, for one, am very grateful for your input.
Please stay on the forum as an "ordinary member"
all the best

I'd like to add my thanks and best wishes Ray, you volunteered to help us when things could get a little rough on the forum sometimes and your calm good sense will be missed by the moderators team.
We will look forward to your continuing forum contributions , happy caravanning

Hi Ray
All the very best in your 'retirement' from Moderators' Duties! Thanks for all your support with some of my posts in the 'Abroad' Section - it's very much appreciated.
Enjoy the rest - and perhaps we may see you in France some time?
Best wishes
Val A

Anyone who does voluntary work is a star in my book.
