Hi MoW
We stayed at Proctors Steads Caravan Site in 2006. You can read reviews of the site here:

My review is Number 66 (TIm and Cary) and includes lots of things to do. It is a beautiful area.
On that occasion we did not visit the Farne Island but there are lots of other things that we did do in my review.
About a year earlier we had an anniversary weekend in a B&B at Alnmouth and on that occasion we did take a boat trip out to the Farne Islands. There are a variety of boat trips operating from Seahouses. We took one which landed on Longstone Island where the lighthouse made famous by the heroic tale of Grace Darling is situated. This company is licensed to run trips there

The boat we were on, also, sailed around some of the other Farne Islands and there were certainly LOTS of seabirds and seals to see.
As I mention in the review we had a very pleasant meal at the "Bamburgh Castle Hotel" in Seahouses. The hotel has a lovely situation with seaviews from the dining room. On another evening in Seahouses we enjoyed some lovely FRESH fish and chips sitting on a flight of steps overlooking the sea. Seahouses was a bit over commercialised.
Holy Island is well worth a visit, be careful of the tides on the causeway, and there is a lovely walk along the shore of the island - away from the crowds of visitors if it's busy. Craster is a lovely little village with a super coastal walk to the romantic clifftop ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle. Bamburgh Castle is, also, worth a visit. There is a lovely view of the castle from the unspoilt beaches which can be accessed from the village of Bamburgh. The Grace Darling Museum is Bamburgh is very interesting too - probably more so now as it has been rebuilt since our visit.
I know it's a while since we went but I'm sure most of these places will have not changed although the prices, will of course, have risen.!!!
I hope this helps.
Tim
