I purchased a new Bailey Ranger last year and have not developed any problems with it until on site in Devon last week.

The wife had just put a pan on the hob ,the food started cooking then the flame went out.I thought it was that the gas bottle was low so i went and renewed it but there was still no gas coming through on any of our appliances,I had recently read about problems with these fixed regulators so i had a ride out to the nearest Bailey dealer, who told me that i would have to buy the regulator off them at £38 and claim it back off Barrons Darlington n-east when i returned home. The new regulator worked fine .Have many of you had any similar expierences of this with fixed regulators and have there dealers reinbursed them with their money without any hastle. Cheers mike

Michael, there is an article in the latest PC mag about this problem.

Seems it has affected quite a lot of vans since 2004 build dates.

Should be covered by makers warranty if nothing else.

ps Im going to email Bailey to see what is going on because what happens when the new fixed regulator fails again because eventually it will be out of warranty.

Michael, you will still be covered by the manufacturers warranty on your new regulator, and if it has to be changed again, for the same fault, then the warranty on that new item will be in force.

Do not let anyone try and tell you that the original warranty is the one that counts, its NOT.

Hi Mike,I purchased my van new in march 2005,an ace award tristar. In june 2005 the gas regulator failed, the dealer replaced it under warranty with the same model,as this was the only regulator available,I said at the time that as the original one had failed I couldn't see the replacement lasting very long. I was right it failed laswt week,I rang the dealer from the site I was on,he said that a new model was now replacing the original regulator,so I contacted my brother who was coming to the site to me the next day so he picked one up for me.So mike if the replacement one is identical to the one that failed my advice to you is get it changed before that falis also. cheers edward

Just in case my regulator packs up and I'm on site in the middle of nowhere I've got some rubber gas pipe and my old propane regulator which I will connect to the van via the BBQ gas point, and feed the system this way. Can anyone see any problems.
