We tour in the winter but have a seasonal pitch during the summer months. Thing is i'm losing patience with the family on the pitch next door. They are new to caravanning or camping but bought a new van and pitched it up for the season. The first time I met the lady was to explain that turning up at 3am in a sports car with loud exhaust, taking 20 attempts to back it into the pitch then spending another half an hour slamming doors and boot while unloading it was not acceptable as she woke us all up (me, the wife & our 2 young kids). It appears she now has a bit of a drink problem as everytime we see her she's always pi55ed. She spends a lot of time there without her husband, gets waisted & starts playing loud music. Sunday night the music started at 7pm ish, so loud I had to turn the telly up in my own van just to hear it. It quitened off at 11ish (Site rules no noise after 11). Then suddenly about 1.30am it went load again. I had my ear plugs in so didn't hear it right away but my wife was straight out to have a word with her. The music went down. We mentioned it to the warden the next day & he said we weren't the first to complain & if it happened again they would give her a warning.

Dont get me wrong we are not complaining old fogeys. We had friends round the night before & had plenty to drink but we kept the noise down while in the awning & at 11pm we all went inside the van so we disturbed nobody. I certanly wouldn't even dream of playing my music loud even during the day.

Why are some people just totally thoughtless???? If it happens again I might unplug her electric hook up. That would stop the music & she wouldn't be sober enough to connect it up till the morning!! He he, only joking!!

Again, another situation, where some people have no respect for others,I just wish that site wardens would be a little more strict where these incidents upset the rest of the site, if I had a site I would only give one warning, then they would have to go, we don't need this hassle, we don't want it, so why should we have to put up with it, good for you for making the warden aware, lets hope he keeps his word and gives her a warning.

Brings to mind the story of the people who waited till the noisy ones had gone to bed then threw birdseed onto the offenders roof - then let the dawn chorus wake them up.

Glen,

Is it a Caravan Club site? If so and the warden does nothing ring the Sites Director ( I think thats his/her title) at head office, or speak to the area manager. She should be removed from the site and if a club member be kicked out of the club. I hope she is removed so that you can enjoy your caravanning.

Its a private site nothing to do with the caravan club.

My wife is there with the kids all summer as she's a teacher, & the warden told her today that he has had a word with the lady. She now thinks my wife has it in for her despite the warden telling her that 4 people complained on Sunday night. The lady's gone home today.

If her husband is there when I return on Friday I will explain to him what happened. He seems a reasonable chap & I don't want to think i'm at loggerheads with anyone. It costs a fortune to put the van on there & I want to relax when i'm there & enjoy it.

Hi Glenn

If it happens again at night why not go and wake the warden for him to deal with it there and then, It might focus the mind a bit. I'm sure a couple of disturbed nights for the warden might get it sorted.

If you believe the problem to be alcohol related the person in question is more than likely driving over the limit most of the time.

Do us all a favour and call the police and give them her car number abd say that you understand she is drinking and driving.

Trouble is that the site managements don't want to send people away and lose the business. I think they naively live in hope that a gentle warning will be enough. I'm sorry to say that it just doesn't work these days. People think they can ride roughshod over you all the time and in the main they get away with it.

If anyone complained about my behaviour I'd be mortified and would go out of my way to put things right - not turn even more bolshie.

Hello Glenn

We've had a similar problem last week, but not with our neighbours either side. I put it down to first night excitement. An english family had invited their French friends over and arranged an holiday.

We had been out most of the day. When we were having our tea in the caravan the people on the pitch behind us were playing with a football,I dont have a problem with that if they're careful, the ball went under our caravan countless times and they asked us only once if they could retrieve it, in broken english, My concern is how many times during the day had this happened before we returned?. The day before I put up a windbreake to stop their children walking through our pitch. Last night we were woke by someone talking at 3am this went on till about 3:30. These people have no respect for anyone else, luckily our children were not woken up.

Will
