ferry meadows, peterborough, c club site

Jo-anne

We've been to FM for a couple of long weekends. Big site split into two areas, we've always been on hard-standing and pitches are good, shower block etc all good quality. Sometimes Fish & Chip van on a Friday but I should check that.Ferry Meadows has some lovely walks around the lakes (minutes from the site) and through the nature reserve. Never stayed any longer than long weekend so have never ventured further into Peterborough. Watch out for the bunnies....rabbit city!

Yes there's a station for the steam trains about a minutes walk from the site. There is a visitors centre by the lake with cafe attached and yes there are play areas dotted around. The walk through the nature reserve certainly took us by at least one golf course We tend to use it for winter breaks so the cafe has been shut when we've visited but I should think it's all up and running now. Also if you carry on past the station you reach a pub.

Hope that helps.

we live in Peterborough, probably 10minutes from the site and we have stayed there over the week end. The kids love it ! Its a paradise for caravanning cyclists.

The site was almost full last week end and that includes the grass areas. Judging by the number of outfits rolling in teatime yesterday it must be fully booked, whioch itself says a lot !

The chip van is resident at weekends during the seasons.

There is at least one play area but for the smaller child in the half with hardstandings. The older ones go into the park next door, as has been already described. It is a very good site but can be packed out at weekends with people from the local County area. Monday to Friday is usually quieter. The 'chippie' is fine, but a bit on the greasy side, as compared with other CC chippies.

Agree the comment regarding the 'bunnies' Maybe they need Wallace and Gromit??
