We are thinking of going to the Isle of Wight, could anyone advise which is the easiest port to use, we don't mind if we have to travel further this end if need be.
from the east midlands which is where i live, southampton is the nearest then portsmouth then lymington having used all three the nearer two i cannot recall having any problems..but although the isle of white is small it might depend where on the isle you are going to which one suits your needs best. as the port you are returning from is possibly more of an issue . i recall east cowes being better than fishbourne for waiting to catch the ferry home...
Im pretty sure their all about the same price, the times we,ve been-once a year for the past ten years the ferry has been included in the site fee.The ferry is not alot of money even if you have to pay for it on its own.I suppose it seems alot considering how little distance the island is from the mainland.

Oh yes it is, which is why the routes to the Island are the most expensive in the world for time on board and distance travelled.
Wightlink have just revised their prices and they are NOT in the downward direction.
A lot of the sites do have arrangements with the ferry companies and include ferry prices in their 5 night "Deals", so worth looking for.
