Hi Folks

looking for some advice here i have a swift sterling europa 09 model and two awnings one full and the other a fiamma quick fit blind type. my question is when using the full awning it is no problem to fit the awning to the awning rail, but when we go away for the weekend its more useful and time saving to use the fiamma roll out blind but on trying to fit this i find it difficult to guide the little hem into the awning rail as it is bulkier than the full awning and im afraid we will do damage if we force it i was wondering if there are any hints out there like some type of lubricant or as i have noticed this awning rail is only opened back one one side of the track to recieve the awning as opposed to my previous van where the rail was opened back on either rail to take the awning . any suggestions ? would be most helpful thanks

thanks Watson

the silicone spray was a fantastic help, i looked at the rail again this morning and noticed that it was in fact a bit tighter than it should have been as i could slip both awnings into the awning skirt rail with no problem at all i contacted the dealer and he said it happens from time to time he said to use a small wooden wedge and gently tap the slot open a bit as we are in ireland and the dealer is in highbridge this seemed like the best option, i did this carefully and it allowed the awning to slot in and in conjunction with the silicone spray both awnings glided effortlessy on to the rail thanks again watson for the fantastic advice.

So glad to help

I've seen people on site using a car plastic number plate to open up the slot but there is a tool available
