Filling an Aquaroll ?

Can anyone offer some advice on this ?

I was away last weekend and when filling my aquaroll (due to its weight) it was a bit of a problem to place back into a thermal cover and also the area surrounding the pitch was extremely muddy so rolling the aquaroll through it was unavoidable - does anyone have any suggestions for an easier (and cleaner !) way of doing it ?

Why not stand the aquaroll on an insulated sheet such as polystrene and use an old fleece jacket for the cover with the submersible pump pipe though an arm hole!!

We top ours up with a watering can, must confess though we don't use much water, mostly just for hot drinks and a bit of washing up so it's not hard work to use the watering can. I also try to do it everyday so it never gets too empty

Just been out in the van for eight days and i never used the Aqaroll no water went through my system at all,i take all my water on board in five litre bottles.that way you havent got to worry about the weather outside and of course its a lot less messy,No rolling the Aqaroll in mud ice or snow,,

Last time we went out in the caravan i had made a thermal cover for it out of loft tank insulation and then topped it up as and when like Tina, i have allso been thinking of using 2 aquarolls in the summer with one trickle filling the other when needed.

we are in scotland every new year gets down to minus 15deg sometimes, i wrap the aquaroll in cylinder jacket and bag, then stand it on a peice of board on wooden blocks so its off the floor, and wrap the delivery pipe in foam pipe sleeve, i use two 10 ltr water carriers to keep it topped up, no probs.

Hi Simon.

We caravan all year. I use pallet wrap (industrial cling film)to wrap the barrels to stop them getting too dirty. We also use old puffa jackets in xxl size purchased from a charity shop for a couple of quid to insulate the barrel's. I find it easier to have the pipe through the neck of te coat and use the sleeves to wrap round the pipe.

When they are too dirty we simply buy two more for a fiver and throw away the dirty ones.

Winter time is awkward but by thinking outside the box, it can be just as enjoyable.

You could use a small folding sack truck as well, but you will findthat the wheels sink in the soft soil. I have to use one for our cassette as I can't carry it far due to arthritis of my shoulders.
