Finding right towcar

Hello all,I'm new to the forum and hoping to get other members advice on purchasing my next tow car.
I currently have a 2016 1500kg Clubman Vision 565.
When I purchased the van I had a 2014 2.2 SD4 Dynamic Range Rover Evoque, had a detatchable towbar fitted and off we went.
On paper it was a good match but in reality whenever we were on the motorway at legal speeds,it was very twitchy whenever a wagon went past.
I have had caravans in the past when kids were younger, about 35 years ago so know about loading etc.
I have now sold the Range Rover and need to decide on either Audi A6 Allroad,vw touareg or Volvo XC90.
The dilemma I have is do I go over the top with the Touareg, will the A6 twitch like the Evoque,or will the Volvo be a good middle bet.
I tow about 9 times a year and confidence in a stable towcar when towing is priority, however for the rest of the year I don't want it to cost a fortune.
Sorry for the long first post but any advice from anyone who has towed with any of the above will be appreciated.
Thanks.Jasperasper

All three options would do the job superbly,l there forum members who own the cars you list, and all make good tow cars. So it’s really your decision on which car best matches your solo and towing needs. Although at 1500 kg your caravan could be towed by a wider range of cars. Passat, Superb, Skoda, Kuga, Insignia, CRV, RAV4,Santa Fe etc.

Thanks for your reply,my heart was set on an audi a6 allroad but got frightened off somewhat when a friend told me how much his air suspension had cost to replace.
To be honest, the experience I had in the evoque was quite hairy, the caravan went into bit of a sway and so did the car.It knocked my confidence a bit.
Just want to make sure my next car is the right choice without going O.T.T.
Cheers.
