You would need to be near the wi-fi source as it is a two-way communication.
But, by definition, many sites are a bit remote so the basic broadband connection tends to be slow and whatever that speed it is divided by the number of users. Don't worry, you will get used to the rotating circle very quickly - until you throw it out of the window.
Using a mi-fi (preferred) or your mobile as a hotspot is a much better option.

Been there, done that etc etc.........

I would not bother with a Firesstick using the site wifi as it will probably not work. Never worked for us and spent more time looking at the revolving circle. We now use the phone as the hot spot.

We have been on one commercial site and one CL that the WiFi was good enough to use the firestick.
Rest of the time we have resorted to using my phone as a hotspot or piggyback my brother in Laws MiFi on his posh Buccaneer if we are away with them.
As a last resort we download a Netflix series or two to a laptop and use that via a HDMI cable.
As a last last resort I'll read a book

Nowadays I find that the majority of the time, data on my phone is much better than site WiFi. And my Fire stick HD worlds very well with it. To be safe, we have two phones on different network.

Has anyone ever experienced wifi on a CAMC site that actually worked as intended.? I try it at least once on most sites we visit, but have never actually had sufficient throughput to do anything other than basic (and slow) browsing.

And what they charge for the privilege is a crime !

The last time we tried a CAMC wifi was at Southlands in 2015. We managed to get a full refund as it was totally useless. Now we hardly ever use CAMC sites as too expensive, but if we do we use the phone as a hot spot.
