Hi, we have just bought our first caravan last week. A 2006 Sterling Eccles Emerald.
Now familiarising myself with it before we go to the lakes next weekend. It seems the booster is missing as there is a power lead, two joined coax cables and one lose coax from the roof and two screws on the wall... anyone know what booster this caravan has as looking at it there seems to be specific ones for specific aerials. The previous owner doesn't seem to know anything about it. It's a fixed aerial not telescopic.
Thanks
Rob

If you can identify the aerial fitted then a dealer should be able to match it to the booster.
You might find the magazines article on the 2006 Eccles useful, it is on https://www.practicalcaravan.com/advice/35471-used-caravan-buyer-2006-sterling-eccles
The text seems to suggest that the model did not come with an aerial, which would mean yours is an extra and could be any make but someone may know better.
Can you send a photo of it?

Thanks, interesting article. The handbook suggests the status aerial should be accompanied by a booster as standard and the lose wires suggest it's been removed. I'll see what my local dealer says but I wanted to avoid buying a brand new one as I expect they're not cheap..

Welcome Streaky bacon, We had a Sterling Eccles Jewel, Cracking first van, as I remember, there wasn't a booster and I had to fit an Aerial extension to the outside of the caravan to raise the aerial up high to get a signal. The whole aerial thing is still in the shed ready to go onto Flea bay with some other old stuff.

Hi Streaky Bacon
The co ax cable from a status aerial usually enters the caravan via the wardrobe and the booster is located on the wall.
On Ebay or Amazon enter Status Aerial Booster Box, find the model that matches your aerial and you should get one for around £30

Thanks. I'll try and find out the aerial type. Are there many different status one's? I've see a status booster used on ebay but it doesn't say what model.

There are numerous Status versions, but two basic models. There is a round one which is able to pick up signals without you turning it to face the transmitter, or a more powerful one that is directional. These have been updated several times over the years though. Possibly a search of the Status web site will let you check if there are different models of booster but I cannot see why different ones are needed.
