First Service

Had the van in for it’s first service today.

I used the same day service at the local dealer. Although I didn’t buy the van from them, the were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble.

The only outstanding point is the visible seams in the floor as detailed in my post here. The dealer has taken pictures and will send a report to Swift, and so I will await their response.

Interestingly enough, when they explained about the damp test, it was explained to me that with the Smart construction, they only test the floor for damp, nothing at all on the walls, as sticking the probes into the inner skin of the GRP panels would achieve nothing anyway, and that in addition to being visible, any water ingress into the inner surface of the walls would just run down into the floor, hence they still check the floor.

I was quite surprised by this, but thinking about it, I see their point, as in how can a non-porous laminated plastic and foam sandwich have damp “inside” ...

Love to hear opinions on this.

Thanks,

Ic.
