After 4 years of caravaning in the UK, I thought it was time I ventured abroad. We have an 11 year old son and so will be looking for a lively site where he can find friends (not too tacky though). I will probably book though the caravan club and take the overnight ferry from St Marlo. I fancy going to Vendee, can anyone recommend one of the sites offered through the caravan club ? I would like to be reasonably near a beach.
I would want an easy drive for my first venture into France with a caravan

I have also heard that Le Grand Parc is worth a visit. I dont know if anyone has any experience of this.

Never been there sorry.
For the last 5 years, we have gone back to the same site in the Vendee.
It is in the CC brochure.

A lovely family run site and about 25 minutes to the beach.
We also do the overnight crossing to St Malo and its about 3 hours to the site
from port.

We can highly recommend Camping Le Pin Parasol in the Vendee. Owners and staff are excellent as are the site facilities.

Where ever you decide to stay in the Vendee, try and make a visit to Puy de Fou... This is a theme park you'll never have seen before. If you able to book the evening cineshow, do it. Note this gets booked up in advance very quickly by tour operators.

Have fun.
