My husband and I are new to caravaning this year we bought a Bailey Pagent Bordeaux at easter and we have been to a few different sites in the UK and not done too bad with a bit of help from more experienced fellow campers, I have to say we always are made to feel very welcome with lots of helping hands. We have decided to take the ferry over from Dover to Calais in August stay on a site near by for 1 night then down to Le Manns for 2 nights carry on down to the Vendee for 10 nights then back up get the ferry back on the 3rd night....has anyone stayed at a site called Le Jard in La Tranche sur Mer or give any advice we are getting a bit nervous now its getting near Anne & Ted

If you are not alrady members, join the Caravan Club and get their Europe Volume 1 handbook of sites and good advice, Reports are largely written by nmembers and tend to be a bit more forthright than the "edited" guides.

Look at CC Red Pennant insurance for peace of mind - the service is excellent should you be in even minor trouble - eg lost keys.

(No connection with CC except long time member).

Hi what sites are you using on the way not far from Calais is Chateau de Gandspette can recommend and just North of Le Mans and close to the Autoroute is the excellent Municipal site at Beaumont su Sarthe.

As for Du Jard it is very commercial in the area and the site Du Jard is not my cup of tea unless you like a site un by a man who thinks he ran Germany in 1939!
