Blew the dome off my rooflight on a recent trip. Looks like I'll need to replace the entire light. Anyone have experience of doing this?

Ed, I have replaced roof lights on a van previously, and they are pretty straightforward.
Usually come as 2 parts, inner and outer.
Unscrew the old inner from the outer, remove the inner, then use a wide flat blade to break the seal on the outer at the roof, remove old outer.
Thoroughly clean the area of old sealer, apply a good bead of silkaflex to the new outer, slide into the aperture, go inside the van, offer up the new inner and screw the two parts together, job done

I recently replaced one for a friend with one I had removed to fit an Omnivent on my van.
All that I had to do was remove the four screws that hold the arms on and the surround stayed in place.
5 minutes with the Swiss army penknife set to philips !!

Ed, as the other respondants have said its a very straight forward job, only thing i would consider is rather than fit the same roof light have a look at the mini heki ones, i have changed both roof lights in my van to mini hekis and the difference is amazing. the hekis allow far more light in to the van and open up just like the full size ones so better ventilation. they are slightly more expensive about
Yes if you do need to change the whole lot get some of the mastic on a roll to ensure a good seal
