Interesting, I would think for the Jag and Mondeo the makers did not think enough of the owners would want to tow so did not think it worth the expense of making it possible. Not sure about the mini but the Mazda might attract boat owners if it could tow rather than caravans.
I assume electric cars could tow if the makers wanted them to, but the battery would simply not be up to the distances we like to tow.
