I'm thinking of buying a new mattress for my caravan (fixed bed cut off corner style) as I don't particularly find the current one very comfortable, however looking for advice off anyone who's also bought a new mattress as to where they got it from and what they think of it?

Would not a quality "topper" be an easier sourced, more cost effective and probably more "comfy" solution?

Clearly it adds weight to what you have but experience with domestic mattresses suggest the comfy ones tend to be the heavy ones.

Most towns have suppliers of foam for mattresses that can be ordered in different density and cut to size

We have one on the bed at home and its fitted with an egg box type overlay

Its extremely comfortable and was supplied with a zip on cover

I would look in yellow pages for your locl faom/sponge supplier

We had two singles made to measure by Beevers of Whitby - I got the address from Google - and there are quite a few other suppliers, especially in areas with a large number of statics for rent. ( I imagine there could be a demand for fresh bedding after a busy season. )

Hi Janet,

Sue and I have a Bailey Indiana Series 5 coming up to its 3rd birthday. One of the very few complaints we had about it was that the foam mattress wasn't that good for a top of the range van, and was certainly not up to the standard of the sprung mattresses we were seeing in Explorer Group and Swift Group vans. I have a back problem and despite a memory foam topper was waking up every morning in some pain.

So last year we emailed Kelly Watts at Bailey customer services and asked if there was an upgrade we could buy. Initially she replied saying that they couldn't help, sorry. However, the following day she emailed again to say they were talking to their mattress suppliers to see if they could help. A couple of days later she confirmed that their mattress suppliers could produce a pocket sprung mattress for the Indiana at an approx cost of
