I've never been to Norway that late in the year (always June/July) but in September you can expect the first snowfalls up in the mountains (we came across the last remains of snow on higher ground even in summer when we there). The main problem travelling in the fjord region is narrow roads. Trucks coming the other way will not give way and will expect you to reverse to the next passing bay (not common but you should be prepared). Expect petrol prices to be about 10% cheaper than in the UK.
