Where I was going to store my caravan has recently had a severe flood , (South Manchester) apparently all the caravans and motor homes are being written off.
The site owner said that the water was chest high. Although presumably all were Insured, I wonder how long it will be before an insurance company specifies that if a caravan is stored in Flood Zone 3, (where it will flood) or at the edge of Flood Zone 2 (which will flood if the water reaches the edge of Flood Zone 2) the caravan is not insured.

It's an obvious progression as severe weather events become more commonplace. Following the US wild fires some insurers are deciding to not offer future cover. Even locally in Bradford on Avon, some businesses have only just got sorted out from Storm Bert and have been hit again by Eowyn, and are saying they may have to move elsewhere as cover is now so expensive. BoA is a town where the EA removed the very effective mobile flood defences in case they should collapse and injure someone.

If it's was me I would be searching for a different storage site before all of the owners of flooded caravans start doing exactly that!
