Fold down Double bed in Caravan??

Hi

I tried this question on another forum and no reply, hopefully someone can help. I remember in days gone bythat my in-laws had a caravan with a bed which folded back into[against] the wall. Does anyone know of a modern caravan which has this feature?

Hi Carole ,

I can remember as a child going to Skegness in a hired static Pemberton caravan with a lovely large fold down bed ( only for mum & dad though ) , that would be in the fifties . Sorry I can't think of a present day tourer with a fold down bed but I have often thought it would be a great idea , giving plenty of room by day and simply folding down your fixed/island bed at night . I don't think it would add any extra weight too , with good design , and as a special luxury treat they could make it electric up/down movement , a real selling point . Table and seats during the day , press a button , hey presto , down comes a full size double bed , ready made , smashing after a few bevies .

--- STEVE .

PS I wonder if one of the caravan manufacturers will give us an answer to this subject on this forum ?

When we were looking a couple of years ago Fleetwood did one with a "fixed" bed at the rear offside that could be folded against the van side with seating available during the day

It could be worth checking their webaite
