If you see my other post, you will know I tow with a C-Max. However, I've got shut of my Discovery, and bought the 2.0 TDCi Mondeo. Whilst I'm happy to tow with the c-Max, it's got an annoying fault on it that Ford's can't seem to cure- the engine goes into limp home mode when towing up steep hills in 2nd gear' usually from a standing start. Not very good really. so, I was wondering if it's worth fitting a bar to the Mondeo. Current van is 1450kg, so well within the capability.

I have a mondeo TDCi (115bhp) and have never had this problem. I can only imagine that it is due to some form overfueling etc as the engine trips out under extreme strain.

I am a member of an extremly good owners clu with an active forumt that may be able to help you if you post up. Its Fordmondeo.org. I also know that there is a similar C-max forum somewhere if you google it.

Indcidently, I have had to uprate my rear suspension to cope and fit a tuning box, and I dont really rate it as much as my previous vectra - just my thoughts though!
