Forest of Dean

Hi, can anyone suggest a caravan site in the Forest of Dean we like fairly rural sites, we would be going next spring.

Try this one

Greenway Farm Caravan & Camping Site

Puddlebrook Road

Drybrook

Gloucestershire

GL17 9HW

you can walk from the site straight into the forest.

Thank you for your reply, I have checked their website sounds good especially as you can walk directly into the forest, Thanks again lets hope for a decent spring

Hi Colleen.

I stayed at Christchurch(forest holidays)a few weeks ago.Very nice site.Situated in the forest itself.Get a map though as i got lost for 2.5 hours walking the dog in the forest.

Collene, We made a first visit to F of D last June and stayed at Christchurch (forrestry Com'n site) There are 3 sites nearby including one where you pitch in the forest itself which looked a bit damp to us. The Christchurch site is quite large with for most part sloping pitches. Very popular for tents especially weekends. Facilities could be improved but for the fees charged I would't complain. Small shop on the site.

Symonds Yat is just down the road and you can access the forest at various points around the site which was great for our springer dog. Good for cyclists and walking with a pub up the road and near to Coleford or Monmouth for shopping and a few restaurants. All in all a nice 4 night stay and I did not see another site that I would have prefered to have been at including the sister site just down the road where facilities looked a bit better but seemed very spread out.
