I read with interest the comments made about a certain company who should not be named!!!!!. This got me thinking ( a dangerous thing I know ). But Forum regular users number about 40. Lets say 100 people drop in from time to time, so 140 X £3.40 per subscribers = £420 revenue. I would think but don't know, a full page glossy advert will cost around £1000 so PC Mag has to look after it's advertisers. It's a no brainer. I find it very nice of them to provide a forum here so that we can discuss different thing between ourselves.

But it would be naive to think they would withdraw from a large revenue earner on the basis of forum members complaints against a company. The Insurance Ombudsman is the person to deal with complaints against an Insurance Company. If you were the Advertising Excutive of PC Mag would you like to sit in Xs office, saying we don't want your business some of our forum users say your C*** I don't think so.

So if your a Caravan Club member why not write to the club, which afterall is run for it's members, and ask why we don't have a forum. Where like minded members can talk to each other and discuss relevant points. On a forum run by the club access is via a membership number so threads can't be hi-jacked.

just a thought

And a very valid one Frank.

I have said before that the Forum, with all its negative comments about the magazine that sponsors it, is hardly a positive item for the publishers!

As a businessman myself - all our marketing is costed and analysed to make sure it is affective.

If I was running the mag - I would have pulled the plug some time ago!
