The most detailed is the Michelin and this is great for getting to out of the way places. We buy a new one every other year to keep up with the road improvements and changes. Also they are in the process of renaming all the road numbers which can be confusing! We prefer the spiral bound version. Waterstones have them for about

The AA do several French road atlases, last editions were published in November 07 so are bang up to date. They're the best selling in the UK and they get their data from IGN (French equivalent of the Ordnance Survey in GB). Errr, yes I do work for AA Publishing, hence my biased (but factually correct) comments !! :) Cheers, Brian

you can not beat the Michelin one. Was looking at the lastest in France 2 weeks ago, new binding to stop pages coming out, lots of Aire info + speed cameras.

We have the latest Michelin one but were disappointed that the campsites in the Michelin book are no longer shown on the map.Still the best mapbook we have seen though

Michelin is still the best mapping for france - they do a very small size with main roads only which is excellent for the longer trips.

If you want to get more detail go to www. viamichelin.com and plan your route and get local mapping. will also show roadworks and speed cameras etc.
