We went to La pergola in 1989 with a caravan and had absolutely no problems. The roads have been much improved since then, so I see no reason why you should have any difficulties. Our only problem was that initially at La Pergola we were given a very stony pitch on one of the terraces: when I spotted a grassy, lakeside pitch available, I went to reception and asked to move on to it. Once this was done, we had a super stay.

I think we had an overnight stop at Peronne on the way down and somewhere in the same area coming back.

Hi Chrissie,

Thanks for your reply, well we might give it a go this summer,it was a lovely place,I just remember having to go up the side of a very

large mountain(hill!) to get to the site.My hubbie wasn't impressed

by our temperature gage in the hilly dordogne last year! We'll just

have to buy a bigger car to save his blood pressure.

Hi Catherine - fabulous site! Last time we went we stayed overnight at Auxerre municipal site (just off A6) then continued south next day via A36 (Dole)and A39 (Lons le Saunier jn8) then N78 around Lons onto D471 (towards Champagnole) and then D39 (towards Doucier). We tow a reasonable sized outfit (4*4/7m van) and only had to drive with a little caution on some short stretches of the D39.

Hope this helps and enjoy.

My family must be one of the few who did not enjoy our 2 week stay at lake Garda. Much prefer La Pergola. If we go to Italy again we will definitely re-visit Tuscanny - superb! Anyway, whatever you choose, enjoy!
