French Strikes (Fuel Problems)

The BBC Radio 4 news at 2.00 pm reported that blockades were still in place at several fuel depots, and that this had caused 'hundreds' of petrol stations to run out of fuel. No further details were given.
 
It seems to be localised, there is plenty of fuel where I am but I've been told that 30 Km away all the garages are closed.
Whether this is caused by the Brits panic buying I'm not sure but there are a lot more Brits where the garages are closed than where I live.
