fridge fan

Has anyone fitted a small vent fan to the fridge outlet, and if so, does it really enhance cooling performance? ----do I fit one fan or two??---the fridge I have is a Thetford N90

Yes. And it does work. Fitted Two PC fans.

Hi, call in at your local computer shop and purchase a couple of pc cooling fans (5 or 7" I think) and then you will need a reich thermo-cooler part number 233-1068 at

Hi i use a 4" square 1" deep 240v electric fan cable tied to the fridge vent,then pluged into the outside socket.Ok only good on mains , but does keep the fridge very cool.

Hi

We fitted a single 8 cm computer fan to the outlet for our 12v compressor fridge which kept cutting out due to the heat. This was in France and Spain with temps at 30C most of the time. Worked perfectly.

We then fitted an additional absorbtion type fridge, 12v, 240v and gas, and again fitted a fan. The fridge got a lot colder due to the heated being extracted away and we managed ice cubes from it whilst parked in temps of 30C

Just an ordinary cooling fan for a PC..even buy them off e-bay for a couple of quid.

I've done a similar thing except that I wired the 2 fans in series, slower but almost silent. One pulling air in (at the bottom) and the top one extracting...worth doing thanks to global warming!

These fans, both 240vAC and 12vDC can be bought at any Maplins store.

Not too sure of the manufacturer,but if you go to rswww.com the part number is 101-8024.This comes with flying leads so you have to crimp the 2 core mains leads to it.This can be a bit noisy in the van at nightime but i only use to run it in the day/evening
