I had the same problem last year. As Damian says it was not the "bulb". As my guarantee runs out next year is it really that difficult to fit a new sensor as a DIY?? Surely the fridge doesn't have to be removed so there's no tampering with gas fittings etc??

Unfortunately with the 8551 it does have to be partially removed to replace the sensor, and as the gas supply is fixed, it cannot slide forward without breaking the gas union.
I would suggest contacting your nearest Dometic service agent to get it replaced before the warranty expires.

Thanks for all the replies. i was looking for the switch and now i know why i cant find it. Ive now got the answer , i put new batteries in my torch , sorted !!!!
