I have a Dometic rm8551 fridge . the light has stopped working, has anyone had to change a bulb and if so how do you get at it.

It is very unlikely to be the actual light itself, which is an LED unit.
It is more likely to be the sensor which is not a DIY job , you need a Dometic Engineer to replace it.

I had the same problem last year. As Damian says it was not the "bulb". As my guarantee runs out next year is it really that difficult to fit a new sensor as a DIY?? Surely the fridge doesn't have to be removed so there's no tampering with gas fittings etc??Damian-Moderator said:

Unfortunately with the 8551 it does have to be partially removed to replace the sensor, and as the gas supply is fixed, it cannot slide forward without breaking the gas union.
I would suggest contacting your nearest Dometic service agent to get it replaced before the warranty expires.

Thanks for all the replies. i was looking for the switch and now i know why i cant find it. Ive now got the answer , i put new batteries in my torch , sorted !!!!
