With all the talk of 'Rising costs' and 'Getting out' why not consider LPG?
I run a Chrysler Grand Voyager 3.3 V6 on LPG but we are 'lucky' in that at 20,000 miles a year we got the conversion [£2k] 'paid for' in 12 months.
We get 20 MPG solo and 15 towing, but at half price fuel thats like doing 40MPG Solo, not bad for 2 ton of seven seater that'll pull 1600Kgs and / or out-drag the boy racers when needs 'must'!
If one were to convert a car that did 40MPG [Eg a Vectra] you end up with a 75MPG motor thats a useful tow car.
Buying converted cars is normally no-where near as dear as having the conversion done, you'll simply pay closer to 'top-book' and have to be quick off the mark!
filling up isn't too difficult once you find your local stations and you can still use petrol if you get stuck.
OH YES AND ITS CLEANER & GREENER TOO!!
