After you leave the ferry, drive for just less than two miles and you come to the N1 crossroads. Turn left and drive another 1.5 miles and you'll find an Auchan hypermarket.

This station is good for the ferry but two things to watch out for.

If you are using plastic don't go to the pumps on the right (or it was last year) as you will find your UK credit card is marginally thicker than French ones and it will be difficult to get it in the slot.

If you go to the Casse pumps (pays at the window) take care for two things: (a) when exiting the pump bay some of them require quite a tight turn and you can hit the island fittings with the back corner of the 'van; (b) the islands on which the pumps stand have stainless steel edges some of which do not fit too well. I hadn't noticed this and took three chunks out of the outside of my 'van offside tyre. It didn't puncture but I opted to fit the spare just to be sure as we were only just tsarting out hols.

You don't need to turn into the Auchan car park as you prgress from the ferry. Go to the lights and turn right keeping in the right lane to turn right at the next lights. The fuel station is then on your left. You go up to and round the island ahead of you and turn right into the petrol station just efore getting back to the lights. You can get into the Auchan car park - it does not have height barriers on the outer sections - I went there to change my wheel as it is very flat and level.
