Hi we are going to France next summer and have booked a fully serviced pitch We've never had one before and wondered what extra equipment we will need. Any advice would be welcome.

Hi Glen,

I use an aquaroll with a ball valve that fits into the side hole of the aquaroll and a lenth of hose to attach to the tap, you will also need a long lenth of waste pipe to go from the caravan waste pipes to the drain, when I went to France I bought a lenth of waste about 12ft long and just cut it to lenth when I got on site. If you are taking a tv and you have sky at home you might want to consider getting a mobile satillite dish and take your digibox with you. You may also need an adapter plug, this is a lenth of cable (about 9 inches) with the french male plug on one end and a UK female plug on the other you just plug your normal mains cable into it.

For the trip you will need a red warning triangle (not sure if you need two) incase of breakdowns, head light deflectors, spare wheel.

I'm sure there are loads of thing I have forgotten but other members will add to this post.

Hi Glen we have been to France a couple of times on service pitches and they are worth every penny, one bit of advice i can give is take some old containers to put your corner steadies in fill with water to stop the ants also loads of ant powder. Whilst travelling it is also french law you must have spare bulbs , first aid kit and high visibilty vest.

Hi,What size of Aquaroll have you got,if its the smaller 29lt you cannot use a ball valve. However there is another container that saves you upgrading, but we can talk about that if you have the smaller Aquaroll.

And yes super pitches are fantastic, saves taking the aquaroll to the tap all the while to fill up.

hiya, fully serviced pitches are luxury, when at our last camp site someone next door had made there own self filling water carrier, a medium size storage box with lockable lid, ball **** and valve, same as in the loo at home and a hose pipe, attached to the box at one end and the tap at the other, cut a hole in the lid to allow pump to sit through, we made one as we were going to fully serviced pitch for next long holiday, cost- (without cost of hosepipe)
