fuse box getting hot

Hi we've just come back from the Alps and while we were there we noticed a faint smell of plastic melting.Looking into it we traced it to the fuse box which is under the front seating area.We were on hook up for almost 3 weeks using the electric heating most of the time.Any idea's what could cause this? The van is a bailey auvergne 2005.

Like Ray said, check the condition of your connections, if any are discoloured, cut that piece off and remake the connection and make sure they are tight.

Hi Keith.

A suggestion here , change all of your fuses as sometime ago there was a big issue about fuses that were bought from halfords and what you have is just what happened with their fuses .

I think they maybe OK now but I wouldnt take the chance ... try a good motor factors or your local caravan dealer

I hope this helps

Sir Roger

I remember that, so i changed all of mine for the smart blade fuse with a led ( when the fuse blows the led lights up to let you know which one has gone )

This is a link to Smart fuse
