Gap to Torino

I would be interested to hear if anybody has driven from Gap in France to Torino in Italy towing a caravan.
If so, I would like to know what the route was like and if any difficulties were encountered.
Many thanks

Sorry can only answer in part - done this several times but not towing - on business. But the long-time caravanner deep inside still looks at drives as potential towing routes. I would have no hesitation if you have a decent - not marginal- power/weight ratio. Ideally 4x4 but otherwise a good big saloon capable of holding say 45mph up quite steep hills. The route is quite high and the engine will loose a bit of power due to altitude - something we don't often expeerience in UK. If very hot, then makes things worse. But the roads are pretty well sorted out. Suggest you post agin with outfit details and see what others have to say.
