Gas and isolation

Obviously on reading this post I am new to caravaning but have a question.

When travelling I have been advised to isolate the gas supply.

No problem with that but by closing off the gas supply using the valve on the top of the gas cylinder as well as shutting off the supply to the caravan using the shut off valve after the gas passes through the regulator is this sufficient, or do I need to physically disconnect the gas supply by removing the pigtail from the top of the gas cylinder.

The yellow coloured tap just after the regulator on bulkhead mounted regulators is NOT an isolation valve to be used under normal circumstances.

It is only there for testing purposes and should NOT be used for anything else.
