So the fridge in the caravan is up n running on gas after years of being run on 240v mains supply,
Even had to lubricate the seized on off dial as Was stuck in,
My question is what colour should the flame in the fridge be? The gas I'm using is an red bottle not the normal blue colour gas bottle,
It's on number 3 has been sinse about 4pm today only just turned it off (time now 23,50) but the flame is still white
Iirc my old monza's fridge the flame was blue, but I'm going back 20 years so could be wrong, lol
Any ideas? Thanks in advance Mark

As it seems you don't know, red/orange cylinders are Propane, blue cylinders (plus Camping Gaz and patio gas) are Butane. Propane is preferred as it boils off at a lower temperature than Butane so can be used in the winter.

The flame should be blue like your cooker hob jets. It won't be white although it might be flickering and yellow which indicates insufficient air mixed with the gas - remember Bunsen burners in Chemistry at school?

If the flame is white or strong yellow it means as Woodenetop has suggested the aeration (mixing of gas and air) is not working correctly. The burner needs to be properly serviced. For safety this should only be done a person competent with working with LPG. I suggest contacting a mobile caravan service company to undertake the work for you.
