I have been looking at the Gaslow advert and their manual gas cylinder change over switch seems to be a good idea.

Is it practical/safe to fit this valve internally, say under a seat?

Any comments re this accessory invited.

Hi James,

We are going to get the Gaslow system fitted on our new van and so had a long chat with them at the NEC show. They said if you have any technical queries just give them a call and they will talk you through it.

You can contact them on: 0845 4000600 or email sales@gaslow.co.uk

Hope that helps.

Hi James,

Glad we could help.

I think we are actually going to have the auto changeover as well as it makes perfect sense and will be much nicer to use instead of going out in the wet or middle of the night to manually change over.

James,

I have had the Gaslow automatic changeover system fitted to our new Swift Conqueror. Excellent system, the empty bottle can be changed without interupting the gas supply, when the rain stops!!

Hi James,

Are you looking at their "switch 2" manual low pressure changeover?

If so then you could mount it inside under a seat or whatever, but I would be tempted to manufacture a structural guard to protect the switch and hoses from damage by other stored equipment.

It looks like the changeover switch is joined to LP hoses with jubilee clips, which means that interference from items stored nearby could cause unseen damage to the installation resulting in a catastrophic gas leak. Perhaps a shield made from plywood or similar could be constructed and fitted to prevent any such interference.

Just be sure that the van is older than 2004 or it is not a legal fitment.
