We had a gazebo when we had a motorhome. Most sites charged but there wasn't often a problem with putting it up. BUT they are useless in the wind; ours was anyway. Had to get up at 3am one breezy night as the thing was about to take off. The same amount of breeze would not have bothered an awning.

Wait till the last 20 seconds.... that way you wont be topped up !!!!!!
our caravan is on a seasonal pitch all year round we have a gazebo aswell as an awning we dont pay any extra for it, it has withstood the snow and bad weather better than what the awning has, and it was only a cheap gazebo from argos.
