Genuine offer to help us overcome last hurdle!

Hi everyone, Well as some of you know we are hopefully picking up our van this saturday but we have a problem. WE have managed to get a single electric towbar off of another rover 400 which my husband was going to fit. Hes now realisied that by the time he finishes work each day its too dark for him to do it (IÔm biting my tounge! )The local garages will only fit new towbars that they suppply so urgently wanted to ask as dont know what else to do, if there is anybody local to the Bedworth / Coventry area (If within the midlands i can possibly travel to them and get my sister to collect the kids from school) who would be prepared to fit the bar and we will obviously pay for the service. I dont know what else to do as we have to collect the van this coming weekend. Otherwise i would rent a car with a towbar, paying insurance of course, but am struggling to find anyone who rents vehicles with towbars fitted.

All help extremely appreciated.

Why not try your local/favourite mechanic?

If they can not fit a towbar I would not employ them for anything else.

There must be some small "backstreet garages" in your area, you know the sort, one or two mechanics working from a rough old building, or even a small proper garage, privatly owned, who would do it?

Hi, thanks for that. The mechanic we usually use is just too busy to fit this week so have spent today working my way through yellow pages with not much look so far but will continue tomorrow and hopefully find someone who can fit us in.
