Hi all,

We have just ordered a new Swift Expression 626 and plan to pull with our Nissan Navara.

I had a couple of caravans in the past, the last one in 2005 but I've had boats since then but that's about to change again.

I can't believe how much more room you get in a van compared to our boat even though it is 32 ft long compared with the 26ft van and much more affordable too! Boat sale is almost completed so roll on next year when the van arrives. :)

cheers

Ricky

Hi Ricky and a very warm welcome to the Practical Caravan forum! Thanks for posting and introducing yourself. Feel free to ask questions, there are many experienced caravanners on here who'd be very happy to help.

Welcome Ricky
No more anti fouling for you then!
and the "moorings" for your van will be a fraction of what you were paying for the boat!
I agree its incredible how much extra room there is in a van compared with the boat, I reckon you can hardly wait until you can get your hands on it.

I am also now boatless for the first time in more than 45 years... it's a very strange feeling and it will take a bit of getting used to.... but I've already noticed the beneficial effect on my wallet!
Happy Caravanning!

You are so right paws, money wise it is a different world and I will not be missing the antifouling!

I do feel a little like someone has chopped off my right arm but I am hoping the van will fill the gap.

You will know all about the explosive dangers of leaking LPG in boats and you weren't able to put holes in your boat to let it escape :eek:hmy:

We put holes in the floors of caravans for that reason..........so don't forget caravans definitely don't float. ;)

Welcome to the forum :)

Hi Dustydog,

No firm plans so far though do want to tow down to Spain in the summer for a couple of weeks via the Channel Tunnel and perhaps a quick weekend near the caravan dealer when we pick it up.

Cheers,

Ricky
