We are hoping to spend some time near Soulac and have chosen a site near l'Amelie - Camping de l'Ocean. Any recommendations etc before we book it. Are the lifeguards in this area over zealous. Near Messange everyone had about 50m to stand in or else the dreaded whistle!!!

French lifeguards are often members of the CRS - the notorious riot police, but they do this job as a public relations exercise. I do not recommend though that you offend them!!!
